The Center of Excellence is a space for facilitating collaboration between NGOs engaged in advocacy trips intended to connect U.S. policymakers with global issues. Access to the website is restricted to approved and registered members.
The Center of Excellence is a community of over 20 NGOs dedicated to addressing global poverty by improving U.S. foreign policy. By hosting trips to developing countries, these NGOs provide a unique opportunity for U.S. policy makers and influential leaders to witness firsthand the importance of investing in strong foreign assistance policies. These NGOs include: the Aspen Institute, CARE, Catholic Relief Services, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Friends of the Global Fight, Gavi- the Vaccine Alliance, Global Health Council, Global Poverty Project, Glover Park Group, Infectious Diseases Society of America, Lugar Center, Malaria No More, ONE, Oxfam, PATH, Population Action International, Results, Save the Children, UN Foundation, US Global Leadership Coalition, and World Vision.
The Center of Excellence offers a unique space for these NGOs to share their rich experience and collaborate with one another. This forum is managed by CARE USA’s Learning Tours Program which has been conducting trips since 2009. Throughout these trips, CARE Learning Tours has refined best practices that continue to contribute to high quality trips for bipartisan delegations. These best practices are shared throughout the Best Practices Guide section.
The Center of Excellence is also intended to facilitate cohesion across this community by supporting opportunities for collaboration and taking the necessary steps to avoid overlap in our work. The Trip Information section contains detailed trip reports by country, as well as a trip database page that contains information on past and upcoming trips. Finally, the Collaboration Center page is a space for the NGO community to directly collaborate with one another.
